Breathe Charity Fund supports innovative Hydrogel Dressing Production at Lviv Polytechnic University

The Breathe Charity Fund has provided critical support to Lviv Polytechnic National University for producing advanced hydrogel dressings. The fund’s donation of specialised conveyor belts has enhanced the university’s experimental production line for these vital medical supplies.

Lviv Polytechnic scientists developed “Aquior” hydrogel dressings, a pioneering development in domestic medical technology. These dressings, composed of natural bioactive polymers, offer superior wound healing and tissue regeneration properties. Their unique formulation ensures they are hypoallergenic, biodegradable, and economically viable for widespread distribution.

The impact of Aquior dressings extends from civilian healthcare to military medicine. They prove particularly crucial in treating burns, chronic wounds, and complex injuries. Their effectiveness has made them indispensable in military hospitals and specialised burn units, significantly improving patient outcomes and recovery times.

Breathe Charity Fund’s support comes at a critical time, bolstering domestic medical innovations when the demand for effective treatment solutions has surged due to the ongoing war. This assistance will enable Lviv Polytechnic to streamline and potentially expand its production capacity, ensuring a steady supply of these essential medical products.

Through its ongoing commitment to supporting key medical initiatives in Ukraine, the Breathe Charity Fund is vital in advancing domestic scientific research and elevating the standard of healthcare nationwide, even in challenging circumstances.
